I could gain sufficient skills that would enhance my capabilities in change management...
“I chose UTS because it offered a one year course in management where I could gain sufficient skills that would enhance my capabilities in change management specialisation.
I always enjoyed coming to the university campus, whether I had classes or not. I enjoyed doing my assignments on campus particularly at the library and any place where I could use the computer and internet. I also liked attending class in the new and well-equipped classrooms. I was very lucky to be in the first group of students to have classes in the new Dr Chau Chak Wing Building.
If given the option, I would prefer to work with individual tasks and assignments, but I positively accept group work as a good avenue to enhance my human relations skills. All methods of teaching in my course worked really well for me, even the online simulation activities which I feared in the beginning!
I always wanted to return home with newly honed skills and competencies in organisational management and leadership. My organisation is expecting me to bring home new principles, techniques and approaches in change management and I am happy that I will be able to apply what I have learnt from this study.
Besides the very amazing buildings, facilities and classrooms, the best thing about UTS is the people I have met here. My lecturers, classmates, friends and staff are all very friendly and welcoming. Despite coming from diverse backgrounds, we were able to work well together and enjoy each other’s company and friendship. I have learnt a lot from all of them and it has also made my stay here much more fun and memorable.
I have benefited so much from the Australian Awards Scholarship. Without this program I would not have gained such spectacular learning in management from my year of study or my personal experience living in Sydney and also getting to visit places in nearby suburbs, as well as Melbourne and Canberra.
I express my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the Australian Government and the University of Technology Sydney for this opportunity and invaluable experience.”
