KTP Joint Research Centres
Joint Research Centres (JRCs) are in many ways the most significant expression of UTS’s commitment to developing long-term, high-impact, collaborative research and research training opportunities with KTP partner institutions. Two new JRCs were established in November 2014:
Australia-China Joint Institute in Health Technology and Innovation with Sun Yat-Sen University (SYSU)
The Australia-China Joint Institute in Health Technology’s strategic agenda includes proposed research collaboration in the following areas: biomedical engineering, bio-sensors for medical applications, intelligent drug delivery, human resources for health and the health workforce, and cardiovascular, aged and chronic care. Co-Directors Professor Hung Nguyen (Faculty of Engineering and IT) and Professor Qiang Jiang (SYSU) are in the process of scoping collaborative research projects and identifying potential sources of funding for these projects.
Mobile Communications with Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST)
The Mobile Communications JRC has proposed research activity in the areas of mobile communication networks and green communication technology. Academic staff from both institutions will collaborate on research publications, joint research grant applications and engage in staff research visits and student research exchanges.
