If you've never used Canvas before, here is a list of common terms and phrases that your peers, tutors or subject coordinators may use when talking about Canvas:
| Canvas Dashboard The landing page when you first log into to Canvas. You’ll see all of your enrolled subjects either as cards on the Dashboard, or under the ‘Courses’ list in the Global Navigation Menu. |
| Courses In Canvas, a unit of study is called a course. |
| Modules In Canvas, content is organised into Modules. Modules show you how to progress through subject content. |
| Menus In Canvas, use the Global Navigation Menu to navigate across the site. Each subject has a Course Navigation Menu that you use to find subject specific content. In a desktop view, these are always located on the left side of your screen. |
