How do I log into Canvas?
Go to canvas.uts.edu.au
If you are already logged into secure single sign-on (SSO) you will be redirected straight to Canvas.
If you are not logged into SSO you will be automatically prompted to log in using your student email address (firstname.lastname@student.uts.edu.au) and UTS password, then authenticate with multi-factor authentication (MFA). For help using and setting up MFA head to uts.edu.au/MFA

Can’t remember your student ID? Contact the IT Support Centre on +61 2 9514 2222.
How do I see my subjects in Canvas?
Subject sites are usually made available one week before your session starts. They appear in your Dashboard when you first log in to Canvas.
If you can’t see your subject, check if it appears in your full course list. Select "Courses" on the global navigation menu, then "All Courses".
Still need help? Contact your subject coordinator or the IT Support Centre on +61 2 9514 2222. The Student Centre may be able to assist with enrolment enquiries.
How do I download content from Canvas?
In Modules, select ‘Export Course Content’ to download content to work offline (if your subject coordinator has made this available).
Currently only a limited amount of content can be downloaded. Please talk to your subject coordinator if you need to download any content.
Help! How do I get technical support for Canvas?
Make sure you’re using a supported browser and enable third-party cookies.
Do you see an error message in Canvas? Take a screenshot and submit an IT request.
If you’re trying to access Canvas at work, some work networks might block the connection to canvas.uts.edu.au. Contact your work IT to see if they’re blocking this address.
How do I use Canvas on my mobile device?
Mobile app
Download the Canvas student app from Google Play or the App Store.
Once installed on your device:
- Search for and add University of Technology Sydney
- Log in using your student email address (firstname.lastname@student.uts.edu.au) and UTS password
- Then authenticate with multi-factor authentication (MFA) to access your Canvas home page and subjects.

Web browser
Use your mobile web browser to log in at canvas.uts.edu.au

How do I view announcements?
Have a look at how to view announcements in the Communications tool section.
How do I view assignments?
Assessments are known as assignments in Canvas. The easiest way to view Assignments is to click on the “Assignments” link in the course navigation menu.

How do I use the calendar?
Click on the Calendar link in the global navigation menu on the left hand side of Canvas.

How do I view my marks or grades?
The Marks page in a Canvas course displays the current marks for this course, if available. Your final results will always appear via My Student Admin.
