What has tourism learnt from the pandemic, and how will it move forward?
How COVID is changing tourism
Albeit airlines, cruise ships, tour operators and travel agencies, the tourism industry was one of the hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. As governments imposed lock-downs, travel restrictions and capacity limits, it quickly became apparent that previous methods of managing tourism crises were ineffective.
So- with the industry still in recovery mode, what changes can we expect to see in tourism? Has the way we can travel changed forever? And how can the sector build resilience when it comes to managing crises?
In this episode of Think: Business Futures, presenter Stefan Posthuma is joined by David Beirman, Adjunct Fellow at the UTS Business School and author of Tourism Crises and Destination Recovery to discuss what’s in store for the tourism of tomorrow.
