The paradigm of competences in light of technological change in the labour market
abstract
At the beginning of the XXI century, numerous changes in the labor market changed its structure. The phenomena most frequently mentioned in the literature are work automation, robotization and polarization. Most research in the indicated thematic area concerns the implemented labor market. However, results show that mismatch occurs frequently, while changing a position is a highly resource-intensive process, both on the part of the employee and the employer. The work aims to determine changes in the labor market in the context of technological change, taking competencies as the research area. The scope of the research includes vacancies from the Polish job offers databases. The available data set allows for the analysis of many attributes related to the position itself. The purpose is to explicate competencies in the context of changes taking place in the labor market. In the theoretical chapters of my thesis, I analyze the most important phenomena in the labour market from the technological perspective, as well as decompose the skills definition. In the empirical chapters I use the NLP methods, mainly classification, to analyze the job offers text and the common pattern throughout the years
