The unique identity of Accounting at UTS
The Accounting Department’s unique qualities promote significant value for our students. Accounting was formed in 1977 to deliver excellence in education and currently has over 60 dedicated teaching staff supporting courses and a lifetime of learning approach.
The department's success is evident through its Academic groups' many achievements. These were recently underpinned by;
- Our very own distinguished Professor Stephen Taylor was inducted into the Australian Accounting Hall of Fame for his longstanding contributions to accounting research, education and standards setting.
- Our specialised Bachelor of Accounting program is headed up by Michelle Cook, who was recently honoured with the prestigious 2022 Vice-Chancellor's Professional Staff Excellence Award and the Business School’s 2023 Professional Excellence Award.

The Department leads the delivery of Accounting and Business Data Analytics majors in the Bachelor of Business undergraduate degree.
At postgraduate level, we deliver the Master of Professional Accounting and the Master of Business Analytics, as well as a PhD program in Accounting.
