Women on Corporate Boards
Join this webinar where the panel will comprise three experienced, respected, influential and generous women in the same room to discuss the issues around the topic of Women on Corporate Boards.
12:00pm, THURSDAY 16 November 2023
Participants will get to hear from three successful businesswomen with boardroom experience and/or experience in recommending directors for significant positions.
Target audience is aspiring board directors, probably mostly female, as well as current directors looking to upgrade their board positions (eg from NFP to profit making, from small to larger organisation). These groups would include younger professional women, as well as those closer to retirement and considering their next move.
Participants may be personally interested in getting on to a board or may wish to learn how to better engage with the boards on which they currently serve.
This panel discussion will cover the challenges and benefits for women of putting themselves forward for these roles. Some of the discussion points will be on:
- Skills matrix, how it is used, how to ensure that your CV covers what might be required.
- How those from diverse/underrepresented backgrounds can overcome barriers to getting on boards (if there are real barriers)
- What backgrounds and qualifications are sought
- What are the risks involved?
