All people wishing to use any Faculty of Science laboratories must first complete the Faculty of Science Research Lab Induction and pass the competency assessment. This induction site has more comprehensive details about what the induction procedure is for access to any Faculty of Science research laboratories.
- After completing the online induction and your Lab Registration, please email science.physics@uts.edu.au to book your place for one of the fortnightly local area inductions. There is no need to get a confirmation, just show up at the appointed time. Please email us well in advance if you need clarification of the meeting point. One-on-one inductions are not available, if you fail to attend an induction you should attend the next scheduled induction.
- MAU Induction: Meet outside the lab, through the big wooden doors at the end of the long ramp between the ActivateFit Gym and the lifts on Level 2 of Building 4
- Physics Lab (CB07.05.070): In the lift lobby on Level 5 of Building 7
- You must also complete a Research Project Safety Plan that includes your planned activities in the MAU or Physics Research Lab. Consult the procedure to create the RPSP. A lot of these risk assessments are already on the Online Risk Register and can just be referenced by their existing RA number. If you have an existing RPSP, you should amend it to include your activities in these labs.
- Please register an account on the Online Booking System so that your trainer can book you instrument training.
- Further information is available for Lab Members on our SharePoint site.
