Abstract
Advanced antenna systems play a crucial role in modern society, enabling connectivity, remote sensing, ensuring national security and various day to day life activities. In this presentation, Distinguished Professor Karu Esselle will highlight several key areas, including opportunities by space. As an example, Prof. Esselle will discuss satellite communications, showcasing advanced antenna solutions developed by his team and others.
About the speaker
Karu Esselle, FRSN, FIEEE, FIEAust, is a Distinguished Professor at UTS, specialising in Electromagnetic and Antenna Engineering. He was named Australia's 2022 Professional Engineer of the Year and led the MetaSteerers team to win the 2023 Eureka Prize for Outstanding Science in Safeguarding Australia.
A Fellow of the Royal Society of NSW, IEEE, and Engineers Australia, Karu has received numerous prestigious awards, authored over 750 publications with 16,000 citations, and garnered over $33 million in research funding. He has also provided expert assistance to various global companies and serves on several IEEE committees and editorial boards.
