The Construction Industry Transformation research stream aims to drive innovative changes in construction practices and project management. Our research focuses on leveraging advanced technologies to transform construction organisations, modernise methods of construction, and elevate Environmental Social Governance (ESG) impacts.
We are a diverse team of experts with proven industrial and research track records, well-positioned to conduct impactful action research. Our reputation stems from delivering tangible outcomes through the use of tools and techniques such as Building Information Modelling (BIM), Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA), Data Visualisation, Life Cycle Costing, Mathematical Modelling, and Image Processing. We combine these with qualitative research methods, when necessary, to enhance our findings.
Our research has successfully applied these technologies to areas such as building prefabrication, intelligent onsite progress monitoring, building retrofitting, portfolio management decision-making, social licensing for infrastructure, housing life-cycle affordability, ESG reporting, and digital design and construction training. We are also advancing our work to human-robot teaming to improve productivity and resilience within the construction industry.
