The Construction Industry Transformation research stream aims to drive innovative changes in construction practices and project management. Our research focuses on leveraging advanced technologies to transform construction organisations, modernise methods of construction, and elevate Environmental Social Governance (ESG) impacts.

We are a diverse team of experts with proven industrial and research track records, well-positioned to conduct impactful action research. Our reputation stems from delivering tangible outcomes through the use of tools and techniques such as Building Information Modelling (BIM), Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA), Data Visualisation, Life Cycle Costing, Mathematical Modelling, and Image Processing. We combine these with qualitative research methods, when necessary, to enhance our findings.

Our research has successfully applied these technologies to areas such as building prefabrication, intelligent onsite progress monitoring, building retrofitting, portfolio management decision-making, social licensing for infrastructure, housing life-cycle affordability, ESG reporting, and digital design and construction training. We are also advancing our work to human-robot teaming to improve productivity and resilience within the construction industry.

Discover research at the forefront of industry transformation with a team of 11 experts at UTS School of Built Environment. Our experienced group combines diverse industrial and research backgrounds to leverage advanced technologies, modern methods of construction, and data analytics. We aim to reshape the construction and management of building and infrastructure projects. We work closely with both public and private sectors to deliver innovative solutions that address real-world challenges, providing tangible commercial value and impactful outcomes. Please contact us for more info about how we can help you!
