Polina Pashkov: stitching together a unique career path

Since graduating with a combined degree of Bachelor of Communication (Media Arts and Production) and Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation in 2017, Polina Pashkov has crafted a career that defies traditional labels.

She began with co-founding and running Stitch Hub, a cloud-based 3D asset management and high-quality rendering platform. Subsequently, she has been a project manager and strategy analyst and is now a benefits analyst with the NSW Department of Customer Service.

Bridging media arts and startups

The skills Polina brings from her degree to her career are understanding how to influence and consider stakeholders and knowing how to navigate between design and communications, cementing her career as a business and technology strategist.

She has worked work on small- and large-scale digital transformations across the public sector, financial services, energy and commodities, for companies such as DXC Technology, Publicis Sapient and most recently at the NSW Department of Customer Service.

The educational foundation at UTS

Her journey through Media and Arts Production at UTS taught her the power of storytelling and the importance of a multidisciplinary approach. It wasn’t just about acquiring a specific skill set but also understanding how disciplines overlap and complement each other.

This transdisciplinary mindset was crucial in her startup journey, enabling her to empathise with and persuade stakeholders effectively.

Beyond academics, Polina’s involvement in UTS clubs and societies shaped her personal and professional development. These experiences taught her collaboration, flexibility and adaptability.

Working with Project Everest Ventures (PEV) further fuelled her passion for value innovation and social impact. It pushed her into the startup world and helped her establish her leadership style. PEV provided opportunities to apply her skills in creating visual content, reinforcing the practical application of her studies.
