We have more than 600 students enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate public health, health services management and diabetes education and management courses at UTS.
Our student cohorts are diverse. Students bring a wide variety of personal and professional experiences to their studies. They all however, share a strong desire to help others and protect our most vulnerable populations.
I want to make an impact in our society and contribute to creating equity among vulnerable groups.
I have a desire to use translational research for intervention development among at-risk youth and adolescents, who are subject to substance abuse and complex mental health issues.
Alexandra Bartholomew, Master of Public Health
As cliché as it sounds, I love health care for what it offers, where it’s going and the potential of where we can take it. Likewise, my absolute passion is fixing existing, or implementing new systems, processes or procedures; seeing that end result is so satisfying.

I worked in paediatric and neonatal intensive care units in Sydney, New York and London, and later moved into general practice nursing.
As much as I enjoyed general practice, I realised that I wanted to focus and specialise in type 2 diabetes, particularly disease prevention. As someone who is passionate about the role of health and fitness in maintaining a great quality of life, I want to educate and assist people to optimise their health through healthy lifestyle choices.
Bronwyn Guy, Bachelor of Nursing Graduate and Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and Management
