Support at Home: UARC Research Showcase 2024
UARC presents its second 2024 Showcase, highlighting how Australia’s Aged Care sector is navigating the shifting landscape of home care.
This event will focus on the significant changes to home care which will be introduced by the new Support at Home program set to replace existing Home Care Packages (HCP) and Short-Term Restorative Care (STRC) programs from July 1, 2025. The showcase will feature an early presentation from Nick Morgan, Assistant Secretary, Support at Home Reform outlining the reforms. It will then explore the key challenges and innovative strategies needed to deliver integrated, sustainable, and high-quality home care. Discussions will centre on building a resilient system that meets the evolving needs of older adults, with a focus on the built environment, coordination across services, the role of digital technologies, and urban planning that promotes well-being and independence.
This full-day event will showcase new research findings from UARC and operational insights from industry leaders and policymakers through expert-led sessions and dynamic panel discussions. The following four critical areas will be explored:
- Australia's aged care Support at Home policy reforms
- How housing and community influence the delivery of home care
- Digital transformation for sustainable work practices and care solutions in the home.
- Healthy-at-home ecosystems - integrating care, care journey and care technologies.
Please join us as we discuss these critical topics and work together to shape the future of home care in Australia.
