We know you’re keen on reapplying (commonly called transferring) to UTS. But how does it all work? Will your studies from your previous institution be counted? We’ve set out this handy to guide to answer all your questions.
Step 1: Deciding which course you want to do
So you’ve decided that UTS is the place for you, but perhaps your unaware of what you would like to study with us or maybe you would like to continue studying what you’re currently studying?!
Either way with 11 faculties and over 200 degrees on offer, you’ll find something for you. And if you need a refresher, you can browse our undergraduate courses.
Step 2: Check your course intake
Now that you’ve decided on one or a few options it’s important to know when you will be applying to study!
UTS has two main intakes in per year:
- Autumn (Semester 1)
- Spring (Semester 2)
Not all courses have an intake in every session. Some, such as our Nursing and Midwifery courses only have an Autumn intake, while others have Spring and even Summer intakes.
The best place to find this information Is by searching your desired course in our UTS handbook.
If your curious about our academic calendar and dates you can also check those out.
Step 3: Make sure you meet the requirements
There are minimum requirements when applying to UTS (known as matriculation) so it’s best to check you meet them. Take your time to check out the course requirements.
Step 4: Time to apply to UTS
In order to reapply to UTS from another institution, you will need to go through UAC. UAC acts as a middleman between universities (like UTS) and applicants (like you!). This is where you’ll upload your documents, set your preferences and receive relevant updates.
Here is a step-by-step guide on the application process.
Step 5: There’s a chance that you might get some recognition for the learning you have already done!
So, you’ve got an offer to study at UTS. Congratulations! Your previous studies don’t have to go to waste. Recognition of prior learning (previous called credit recognition) acknowledges the skills and knowledge that you’ll bring to your studies at UTS through previous education or employment experience.
You can submit your RPL form, and find more information here
Step 6: What do I do if I didn’t meet the requirements?
