Nathalia has a background in Pharmacy and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Health at UTS. She has worked in community pharmacy for the past five years and is passionate about research.
As an intern at WHO CC UTS, her role included liaising with WHO CC staff in conducting project work, performing literature searches, data collection reviews, and compiling bibliographical material. She also assisted with data analysis, writing, proofreading of reports and other materials for publication.
She assisted with producing scoping reports, analysed and reported raw data, gathered information from other source materials to include in reports, and was responsible for formatting and referencing. Nathalia also was involved with producing communication resources for partners in the west pacific. She also participated in one of the meetings held by the WHO Western Pacific region regarding managing the COVID-19 vaccine supply. Those were both very enlightening and rewarding experiences for her.
Nathalia first chose to apply as an intern at WHO CC UTS due to her passion for policymaking and evaluation. Since then, her interest in influencing and informing health policy has only grown. Her experience at WHO CC UTS allowed her to discover many career paths she would like to follow. She also found that the work done at WHO CC UTS is very fulfilling and believes that a career in health policy evaluation and health project management would be in line with her purpose.
Her experience at WHO CC UTS helped her achieve her learning objectives and allowed her to gain many of the skills she needs to achieve her career goals.
While reflecting on the impact this professional placement has had on her career, she concluded that it helped cement her previous career aspirations. This experience gave her the certainty that there is still much work to be done in public health policy. It opened her eyes to the possibilities of working in collaboration with other countries and institutions to improve health systems all over the world.
