The Policy Roundtable on Strengthening Health Workforce Regulation was held from the 19-20th of September at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre in Melbourne, Australia.
Across the Western Pacific Region, the need to build and strengthen effective, approriate and efficient systems for the regulation of the health workforce has been identified as a priority area. In line with this, participants at the round table met to hold a dialogue on policy trends and critical issues in the design and implimentation of regulatory workforce frameworks.
They discussed issues such as improving health care quality and safety, encouraging lifelong learning and multi-disciplinary practice and best practice in implementation of health force regulation.
