Advanced Vehicle Technologies Best Student Paper Award

Congratulations to Professor Tomonari Furukawa (VT and UTS), Kuya Takami, Xianqio Tong, Daniel Watman, Abbi Hamed, Dr Ravindra Ranasinghe and Professor Gamini Dissanayake for winning the Advanced Vehicle Technologies (AVT) Best Student Paper Award at the ASME 2015 International Design Engineering Teachnical Conferences & Computers and Information in Engineering Conference (IDETC/CIE 2015) for the paper titled "Map-based Navigation of an Autonomous Car Using Grid-based Scan-to-Map Matching".

The publication was the outcome of collaborative work between Virginia Tech, NVIDIA Corporation, ZMP Inc., a Japanese start-up company working on driverless cars, and CAS.
