PaCCSC travel grant recipients
Thanks to funding from the NSW Ministry of Health, we were able to offer a number of $1,000 PaCCSC travel grants for attendance at the PaCCSC & CST Annual Research Forum 2023.
The grants supported travel for rural and regional palliative care clinicians with an interest in research. Grant recipients also received complimentary registration for the forum.
We were delighted that two Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Consultants accepted the grants. Fiona Lysaught from Moree Community Health and Joanne Cooper from Lismore Community and Allied Health attended both days of the forum, which took place in Sydney on 15 and 16 March.
Fiona remarked that the conference couldn't have come at a better time for her.
A major learning that I took home with me was the way negative outcomes/findings were presented so positively and received with so much professional curiosity.
Joanne valued being able to catch up with people she hadn't seen for some time and meeting other people who were interested in research too.
I have so many research ideas I would like to pursue, now. I can’t express how valuable the two days were for me, as a Clinical Nurse Consultant who has been conducting research virtually in isolation.
We were pleased to offer this opportunity for Fiona and Joanne to connect with others at the forum and we hope to see them again at future events.
