Distinguished Professor Guoxiu Wang, Director
Prof. Wang is an expert in materials chemistry, electrochemistry, energy storage and conversion, and battery technologies. His research interests include rechargeable batteries (e.g. lithium-ion batteries, lithium-air batteries, sodium-ion batteries, lithium-sulfur batteries etc.), supercapacitors, hydrogen storage materials, fuel-cells, graphene and MXenes.
Assoc/Prof. Hao Liu
Prof. Hao is interested in the research fields of electrochemistry, nanotechnology and energy storage and conversion. He has developed the synthesis and applications for one-dimensional, mesoporous and novel core-shell structure materials and leads a team working on flexible hybrid devices.
Dr. Bing Sun
Dr Sun is currently an ARC Future Fellow at CCET. His research interests focus on the development of next-generation battery materials and technologies for high-energy-density lithium-based batteries and sodium-based batteries.
Dr. Jinqiang Zhang
Dr Zhang is currently a UTS Chancellor's Postdoctoral Research Fellow.
Dr. Asif Mahmood
Dr. Mahmood is currently working at CCET as Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Research Fellow. He received his PhD degree from Peking University, China and is currently pursuing research on porous nanomaterials for energy conversion and storage applications. He is particularly focusing on rechargeable batteries such as lithium/sodium batteries and hydrogen production.
Dr. Parvez Mahmud
Dr Parvez Mahmud is a Senior Lecturer and the Director of Master of Sustainable Energy program at UTS. He is an expert in life cycle assessment (LCA) and the sustainable design of energy systems. His research interests include energy and sustainability, LCA of energy systems, nanogenerators for energy harvesting and storage, sustainable and eco-design, circular economy, and life-cycle cost analysis (LCCA).
Dr. Fred Marlton
Fred Marlton is currently a UTS Chancellor's Postdoctoral Research Fellow. His research focuses on understanding atomic-scale structure property relationships in functional materials. This is typically from detailed analysis and complex modelling of high energy X-ray and neutron powder diffraction data collected at large scale facilities. This has been used to understand the behavior of ferroelectrics, ionic conductors, battery materials and ceramics for nuclear waste storage.
Dr. Yufei Zhao
Dr. Yufei Zhao is currently a Lecturer at UTS. Her research interest focuses on synthesis and application of atomically dispersed catalysts, precious metal alloys, high entropy materials, perovskite oxides, etc. for energy conversion reactions, including water splitting, fuel cells and CO2 reduction reactions.
Dr. Shijian Wang
Dr. Wang is a research associate in CCET funded by FBICRC project. He mainly works on the manufacturing of ternary lithium transition metal oxide cathodes for lithium-ion batteries. His research interests also include the fabrication of 2D materials and their heterostructures for energy conversion and storage applications.
Dr. Hao Tian
Dr. Tian’s research focuses on the synthesis of nanostructured materials with optimized functionalities and components especially single atom catalysts and their applications for energy storage and conversion such as supercapacitors, lithium-ion batteries, electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution, oxygen reduction reactions and carbon dioxide reductions.
Dr. Yao-Jie Lei
Mr Lei is currently a Research Associate at Centre for Clean Energy Technology. His research interests focus on energy storages, including sodium-ion batteries, sodium-sulfur batteries and potassium-sulfur batteries.
Dr. Lingfei Zhao
Dr. Lingfei Zhao is currently working at CCET as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. His research interests mainly focus on material design and electrolyte engineering for next-generation Li/Na metal batteries.
Dr. Jane Yao – Research Group Manager and lab manager
Dr. Yao helped to establish the lab and equip the CCET with world-class facilities. Her work spans recruitment of students and research fellows to administrative support and analysis of research grants and research budgets. Jane also maintains the CCET’s website and media presence and is proud to promote CCET's activities and breakthrough publications on the world stage.
