AAII lands CSIRO-NSF partnership grant
AAII has received one of three CSIRO-NSF grants, partnering the leading national science agencies of Australia and the US.
AAII's Dr Yi Zhang named CI in CSIRO-NSF partnership grant
The recently established CSIRO-NSF partnership between the nations two leading science organisations aims to accelerate joint research in areas of mutual priority between Australia and the United States. Climate change, clean energy and sustainability, building low emissions technologies and developing ethical artificial intelligence are some of the challenges being tackled by the CSIRO and the NSF under the multi-million-dollar partnership.
Three Australia-US teams were announced today as beneficiaries of the responsible and ethical AI grants totalling US$1.8 million from NSF and AUD$2.3 million from CSIRO. Dr Yi Zhang of the Australian Artificial Intelligence Institute has been named one of Australia's chief CI's in 'Graph Representation Learning for Fair Teaming in Crisis Response', working in collaboration with the University of Melbourne, the University of Texas at Austin and UCLA.
As the national science agency, CSIRO has an important role to play in connecting and strengthening the Australian innovation ecosystem, ensuring we are equipped to meet our biggest challenges for the future. This means harnessing global networks and facilitating opportunities for collaborative research across industry, government and science organisations.
