We are excited to deliver free workshops to equip parents, caregivers, and teens. These workshops offer practical, evidence-based psychological strategies to help parents and teens navigate everyday challenges.
Workshops for parents and teens
Workshops are either offered online via Zoom or at The Kidman Centre, located in Prince of Wales Hospital Randwick. All workshops are presented by an experienced clinical psychologist and are not recorded.

When emailing, please let us know the workshops you wish to attend. If you choose to attend the workshop online, you will receive a Zoom link on the morning of the workshop.
Workshops for parents
WORKSHOP 1
Raising Resilient Children: A Parent's Guide to Increasing Confidence and Supporting Your Anxious Child
WHO IS THIS FOR: All parents and caregivers of children aged 6-12 years.
DESCRIPTION: This practical strengths-based workshop provides tools to support childhood anxiety. We will explain the science of anxiety, encourage brave behaviours and learn how to stop reinforcing anxious worries.

Inside Out - Teen and Parent Edition: Understanding Anxiety and Learning Essential Life Skills
WHO IS THIS FOR: Teenagers & their parents or carers
DESCRIPTION: Do you ever feel like your own mind is your biggest obstacle, causing doubt and undermining you capabilities? You're not alone. Studies show that one in three adolescents aged 13-18 experience some form of excessive worry or anxiety. Our workshop offers a toolkit for families help understand and reduce anxiety based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Supporting You to Support Them: Essential Self-Care Tips for Parents of Children with Mental Ill Health
WHO IS THIS FOR: All parents and caregivers.
DESCRIPTION: Being a parent is tough and being a parent with a child who is struggling can be incredibly isolating. We recognise the profound impact your child's anxiety or low mood can have on a parent's wellbeing. This workshop is designed to empower you with psychological skills to manage your own worry or burnout, enabling you to maintain your wellbeing while supporting your child. Join us to learn, hear from others, and become a resilient pillar to your family.

WORKSHOP 4
Nurturing Neurodivergence: Supporting Children with Autism (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
WHO IS THIS FOR: Anyone interested in supporting neurodivergent children
DESCRIPTION: This workshop aims to provide an introduction on how to parent a child with ASD or ADHD in a strength-based way. We will explore how to discuss neurodiversity with your child, siblings, family members or teachers as well as the importance of maintaining parent self-care. This workshop will include time for discussion and sharing.

Tech Talk: Enhancing Your Relationship with Social Media
WHO IS THIS FOR: All parents and caregivers of children and teens 6-18 years.
DESCRIPTION: This practical workshop ahead of the holiday season will delve into how technology and social media can be a beneficial tool for both you and your teen, helping foster communication, learning and connection in today's digital world. Join us to learn strategies to create a healthy screen time routine during the break.
