Contract services: Process development
Scalable, cost-effective, and reproducible process development
The Biologics Innovation Facility (BIF) provides process development services aimed at offering the local biotechnology industry and academia a platform for scalable, cost-effective, and reproducible process development.
Upstream processing
Upstream processing involves the cultivation of cells which have been engineered to express a protein of interest.
The facility includes single-use bioreactors for easily scalable protein production. The facility contains the following equipment:
- Kuhner shaker incubator with CO2
- Ambr 250 Modular Bioreactor (2 modules)
The flexible design of the facility allows for ease of protein harvest and transportation between equipment.

Downstream processing
Downstream processing involves the recovery, purification, and concentration of the desired protein product from cells.
BIF is able to provide multi-step purification and concentration strategies to suit your project needs. The facility includes dedicated single-use protein recovery, purification, and concentration equipment, including:
- ÄKTA flux 6 Small Scale tangential flow filtration systems
