Here are some examples of our work at UTS contributing towards SDG 13.

About SDG 13: Climate action

Climate change is already affecting every nation. Australia is experiencing more intense droughts, bushfires, floods and storms. Ecosystems and local economies are under threat. SDG 13 commits governments, industries, and communities to take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

UTS was the first Australian university to sign the United Nations Climate Emergency Declaration in 2019. Our staff, students and researchers have mobilised to help reduce greenhouse pollution, develop technical solutions, facilitate social change and just transitions, and develop the resilience of human and ecological systems to the impacts of climate change. Below are some examples of our contribution and impact.

UTS microcredential unites industry and high-school students to tackle net-zero

UTS has united sustainability and innovation experts to lend their knowledge and industry experience to the next generation on how to reach net-zero.
