How to apply to study at UTS

Domestic students

International students

NOTE:

All applications for study at UTS are submitted through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC), except if the applicant is a non-current school leaver with temporary protection (i.e. holder of a Bridging Visa E or A, Temporary Protection Visa – subclass 785, or Safe Haven Enterprise Visa – subclass 790, Temporary Humanitarian Concern Visa-subclass 786). These applicants should submit their application to study direct to UTS International.

The application process for study is different for applicants who are applying directly from high school (recent school leavers) and those who are using other qualifications, i.e TAFE Diploma, non-current school leavers. Visit our Future Students page to find out more.

Alternative pathways into UTS

The Humanitarian Scholarship Program isn’t the only support we offer to students who have refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds. Other ways we help students get started on their educational journey includes:

  • Outreach activities
  • Access schemes including inpUTS and the Schools Recommendation Scheme
  • Transition services
  • Academic and personal support programs.

Important:

If you hold a Permanent Humanitarian Visa (subclass 866, 200 – 204), you are considered a domestic student and eligible to apply for inpUTS and the Schools Recommendation Scheme.

There are also a number of scholarships that you can apply for including the Diversity Access Scholarship and Oak Scholarship Trust Grant. Use the UTS Scholarship Tool to find out more.

Acknowledgement of Country

UTS acknowledges the Gadigal People of the Eora Nation and the Boorooberongal People of the Dharug Nation upon whose ancestral lands our campuses now stand. We would also like to pay respect to the Elders both past and present, acknowledging them as the traditional custodians of knowledge for these lands.
