Catch up on Respect at Uni Week!
Held for the first time in 2024, Respect at Uni Week raises awareness of what we’re doing to promote respect, inclusion and equality across our diverse staff and student community. Missed it? Catch up here!
In March, the UTS Library, ActivateUTS, the People Unit, and the Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion joined forces to launch Respect at Uni, a week-long program that included events, training and initiatives designed to support our zero-tolerance approach to any form of sexual violence.
Here are some of the highlights:
Drag arts and crafts
Libraries are safe and important public spaces. What better way to celebrate than with UTS Library’s favourite drag performers, drawing and crafting in a one-hour special. Read more about The Library and RNA safe spaces, written by UTSoC’s Lucia Fardell.
Wicked Women
Murderers, thieves, traitors. And women. In this Uncensored talk, we explored what it means to be a ‘wicked woman’ who goes against the status quo, highlighting the effect of gender in crime and justice, both then and now.
Law, Health and Gender
A case worker, law partner and UTS Health Dean discussed the complex intersection between law and women’s health.

Thanks to Norton Rose Fulbright, who sponsored this event and Plate it Forward who provided their delicious and thoughtful eats. We distributed over $6000 to directly support non-government organisations working in sexual violence prevention.
We recognise that completely eradicating sexual harm at UTS requires shifting attitudes and changing behaviours, a process that takes time, energy, consistency and focus. Thank you for supporting our ongoing commitment to ensuring a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for all. Learn more at rna.uts.edu.au.
