Position Available: (Senior) Research Fellow (NHMRC CRE)
The Centre for Health Economics Research and Evaluation (CHERE) is recruiting a Research Fellow or Senior Research Fellow to contribute to our program of research in applied econometrics and policy evaluation.
About the Role
The successful applicant will work independently and as part of a team on various projects that are part of CHERE's extensive program of research in outcome evaluation and applied econometrics.
Current programs of research include the Centre for Research Excellence on Value-Based Cancer Care, and a range of projects evaluating health programs and interventions.
The successful applicant will work with senior researchers across CHERE, and also with collaborators at other universities and across the health system to undertake these projects.
Duties will include: development and implementation of analysis plans using a range of econometric techniques; management and analysis of a range of data sources including administrative, linked, and survey data; preparation of high-quality written reports and peer-reviewed journal articles; and contribution to the development of new projects.
The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to participate in professional development and related activities and contribute to achieving the Centre’s performance targets.
About You
You will have a PhD in economics, health economics, or a related discipline. You will have experience in applied econometric methods and use of statistical software, with knowledge of health policy and the Australian health system desirable. You will have excellent organisation and project management skills.
You will have experience and capacity to work independently under supervision and as part of a team. You are also an excellent communicator and have the ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative networks throughout the university as well as nationally and internationally. You will have demonstrated skills in writing reports. A track record in writing peer-reviewed publications and grant applications would be an advantage but is not essential.

Base Salary Range: $109,285 to $129,345 pa (Level B) / $132,849 to $152,567 pa (Level C)
The position is full time and will be made on a 2-year fixed term basis
