The Centre for Health Economics Research and Evaluation (CHERE) is part of UTS Health and is recognised nationally and internationally as a centre of excellence in economic evaluation and health technology assessment, applied econometrics and policy evaluation, discrete choice experiments, and health outcome measurement.
Our research is also focussed on using health economics to inform the design of health care delivery across the life cycle and for particular diseases and population groups, including aged care, palliative care, cancer, primary care, early childhood and chronic diseases.
CHERE has a strong leadership team of senior researchers with international reputations. We have a more than 30-year history of excellence with impact in health economics, health policy and health services research in Australia and internationally. CHERE has an outstanding reputation for mentoring and developing early and mid-career research fellows into leaders in their field. Many of the senior health economics academics in Australia, as well as internationally, have undertaken significant parts of their research training at CHERE.
About the Role
CHERE is currently recruiting for multiple Research Fellows / Senior Research Fellows to contribute to the program of work in economic evaluation and health technology assessment (HTA). This includes undertaking independent research, commissioned work and performing critical appraisal of health technology assessments. A key component of the role will be evaluating submissions to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) and preparing HTA reports for the Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC) or other HTA agencies. In addition, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to develop modelled cost-effectiveness analyses, analyse clinical trial and patient data, prepare high quality written reports and peer-reviewed journal articles and contribute to researcher-initiated projects.
About You
Working in a team and individually, you will utilise your previous experience in health services or health economics research and undertaking quantitative analysis, analysis of quality of life data, economic evaluation and health technology assessments. Other requirements include:
- Post-graduate degree in economics, health economics, health services research, statistics, public health, epidemiology, pharmacy or equivalent (Level B and above)
- A PhD (awarded) in health economics, health services research, pharmacy, epidemiology or public health (Level C essential)
- Track record of peer reviewed publications (Level C essential, Level B desirable)
- Experience in research project management and ethics applications
- Experience in writing grant applications and research proposals and responding to tenders
- Experience in disseminating research results.
- Experience in leading research projects (Level C essential, Level B desirable)
Remuneration & Benefits
Base Salary Range: $110,378 to $130,639 pa (Level B) / $134,178 to $154,093 pa (Level C).
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
The position is full time and will be made on 2 year fixed-term basis.
