About us
The Centre for Health Economics Research and Evaluation (CHERE) is part of UTS Health and is recognised nationally and internationally as a centre of excellence in economic evaluation and health technology assessment, applied econometrics, discrete choice experiments, health outcome measurement and policy evaluation.
We are seeking to recruit a Research Fellow or Senior Research Fellow to contribute to our program of research in measurement and valuation of quality of life and health outcomes, and economic evaluation.
About the Role
The successful applicant will work independently and as part of a team on various projects that are part of CHERE's extensive program of research in health outcomes and quality of life measurement and valuation and economic evaluation.
Current programs of research include the Cancer Australia National Technical Service on Quality of Life (C-QUEST) and a range of projects evaluating health programs and interventions, including digital health programs.
The successful applicant will work with senior researchers across UTS research centres, including CHERE and IMPACCT (Centre for Improving Palliative, Aged and Chronic Care through Clinical Research and Translation), and also with collaborators at other universities and across the health system to undertake these projects.
Duties will include day to day project management, including: liaison with the 14 National Cancer Cooperative Trials Groups and health system partners; application of a range of health services research, health economics and patient reported outcomes research methods; provision of advice on design of evaluations of health interventions and the inclusion of patient reported outcomes as part of clinical trials; management of data and conduct of statistical analyses; preparing high quality written reports and peer-reviewed journal articles; and contributing to the development of new projects.
The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to participate in professional development and related activities and contribute to achieving the Centre’s performance targets.
About You
You will have a postgraduate degree or PhD in health services research, health economics, economics, social sciences, clinical trials or a related subject. You will have experience in measurement and valuation of health outcomes and understand key concepts in quality of life measurement. You will have excellent organisation and project management skills. Experience with psychometric analysis or econometric analysis would be an advantage but are not essential.
You will have experience and capacity to work independently under supervision and as part of a team. You are also an excellent communicator and have the ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative networks throughout the university as well as nationally and internationally. You will also have demonstrated skills in writing reports. A track record in writing peer-reviewed publications and grant applications would be an advantage but is not essential.

Base Salary Range: $109,285 to $129,345 pa (Level B) / $132,849 to $152,567 pa
The position is full time and will be made on a 2-year fixed term basis
