Social Progress: Climate Change Simulation Game
"What will you do as ambassador for your country?" This face-to-face, interactive workshop will simulate a global climate change summit where you will learn how to balance self vs collective and short vs long term interests, along with the importance of mobilising others to do the same.
An in-person interactive workshop. This will be held at UTS main campus – Sydney. This workshop attracts 10 BUILD Elective Points for BUILD members.
"What will you do as an ambassador for your country?" This face-to-face, interactive High Resolves workshop will simulate a global climate change summit. Through this experience, you will:
- Explore the challenges in addressing collective action problems.
- Understand the need to balance self vs collective and short vs long-term interests along with the importance of mobilizing others to do the same.
- Recognise that inclusive leadership means creating solidarity, not division so that more people are engaged in working towards social progress.
By the end of the workshop students will be able to:
- Feel encouraged that they can make a positive contribution to social progress even if others are not
- Be able to use a range of interpersonal techniques to create an inclusive environment that motivates others to take positive action
- Recognise how by understanding what is driving someone’s behaviour they can better motivate them to cooperate with others
