CHT is home to a series of cutting-edge facilities and resources that enable the ongoing development of world-leading research.
Our facilities
Work with CHT
Biomarker and Biotherapy Discovery Facility
The Biomarker and Biotherapy Discovery Facility houses an Applied Biosystems QuantStudio and a $100,000 QuantStudio Open Array block and robot. Supported by funding from Thermo Fisher Scientific and UTS, this facility has positioned UTS as a high-throughput validation site for novel disease biomarker assays.
Medical Devices Lab
This lab supports the development of non-invasive technology, biosignals and microwave. Supported by funding from two ARC LIEF grants, this facility has allowed the developments of novel devices for people with diabetes and people with disabilities. It has access to a parallel computer lab (Orion Cluster) to support bioinformatics research.
Multidisciplinary labs
CHT researchers have access to a vast array of multidisciplinary laboratories, including:
- Microstructural Analysis Unit for SEM imaging, elemental analysis and x-ray diffraction
- UTS Proteomics Core Facility for sample preparation and protein extraction, protein separations, identification and characterisation
- Biologics Innovation Facility for biologics manufacturing solutions and transform professional training in a simulated GMP environment
- Microbial Imaging Facility for high-resolution imaging and visualisation
- Microstructural Analysis Facility for characterisation and fabrication
- Surgical and Anatomical Science Facility with both Surgical Skills Laboratories and Plastination Laboratory
