New, subsidised short courses to prepare future workforce
UTS has developed a series of Higher Education Certificates to help workers boost the skills needed in the post-pandemic economy.

The nine new courses are in line with the Federal Government’s Higher Education Relief Package, and are focused on the priority fields of science, engineering, information technology, architecture and building, health and education.
They will be delivered solely online.
UTS Vice-Chancellor and President Attila Brungs says a core part of why universities exist is to help society, and even more so in times of trouble.
“Supporting the Commonwealth’s call and drawing upon our ability to rapidly provide innovative ways of learning that will assist people during this period of upheaval is critical.
We are committed to supporting students and workers displaced by the COVID-19 crisis who are looking to retrain or upskill.

“UTS has worked diligently to bring our course work online to support our student community in their learning needs, but we can leverage this to provide additional courses to support the workforce as it adapts and changes rapidly amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“We are committed to supporting students and workers displaced by the COVID-19 crisis who are looking to retrain or upskill.”
The offerings are subsidised by the Federal Government and are available at a subsidised cost starting at $1250.

The six-month courses will start in July and run through November.
Upon finishing their graduate certificate, students may be able to enrol in a postgraduate diploma or masters degree, depending on the certificate completed.
