ISF student presents at London Climate Week
In July this year, ISF PhD candidate Jason Graham-Nye had the privilege to share his expertise on circular economy to an audience that included HRH King Charles III at the UK’s premiere climate conference. Jason explains the experience.
"I was fortunate enough to be invited to speak at London Climate Action Week (LCAW) in London earlier this month. The event is one of the largest independent climate events in Europe. The annual event brings together the city's world-leading array of climate professionals and communities. Now in its fifth year, LCAW creates space for participants to come together and find global solutions to climate change. This year’s programming promoted cooperation between key parts of the London climate ecosystem and improve the impact of London’s global climate action networks into the future.
Attendees included HM King Charles III and London Mayor, Sadiq Khan. I spoke on a panel with Laura Tapper of Weber Shandwick and Bevis Watts of Triodos Bank, discussing the role of early-stage innovators and the value of radical transparency for brands as we head to Net Zero.
This topic draws on both my business experience with my company gDiapers and my Doctoral research. My research seeks to understand how, at a macro level niche innovations can destablise incumbent actors and at a micro level, how new, sustainable consumption practices can emerge to become the norm.
The countdown clock behind us, launched moments before by HM King Charles III provided an ominous backdrop!"
