ISF delivers its work in close collaboration with our partners, who represent a breadth of sectors and organisation types. Last year, we welcomed more than 30 new partners to our collaborators. Here are three new partnerships and the projects we’re collaborating on.
Partnerships
Partner: Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Project: Sanitation and Climate: Assessing Resilience and Emissions This three-year research project is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and implemented by a multi-partner team including Haramaya University, Kathmandu University, Kyambogo University, University of Bristol, University of Leeds, University of Technology Sydney and the Global Green Growth Institute. It aims to improve estimates of greenhouse gas emissions associated with sanitation, broaden understanding of how to enhance the resilience of sanitation services to climate change, and support government decision-making for planning and assessment of sanitation services that consider climate resilience and emissions, while meeting the needs of women and girls. |
Partner: Centre for Work Health and Safety Project: Assessing risk of new sustainable farming practices Many Australian farmers are responding to unpredictable rainfall and extreme heat by changing the way they work, with little information about the way these changes might affect their work health and safety. ISF is partnering with the Centre for Work Health and Safety to conduct a large-scale survey and analysis of the issue. |
Partners: Heyfield Community Resource Centre, Wattwatchers, Latrobe Valley Authority Project: MyTown Heyfield The 2000-person town of Heyfield in Victoria is the site for this three-year microgrid feasibility study that is unique in its use of data-collecting technology from partner Wattwatchers and community engagement supported by the Heyfield Community Resource Centre. MyTown aims to help Heyfield find an affordable, sustainable and reliable energy solution for the community, while developing a replicable model that can be applied to other communities. |
