Too often, the widespread adoption of new technologies serves to replicate and entrench existing inequalities. This doesn’t have to be the case.

Technology for good

The deployment of exciting, new technologies can improve our community infinitely and make it fairer and more inclusive – provided that thoughtful design, use and oversight is central to their development and deployment.

HTI has established partnerships with leading organisations in Australia and internationally to practically support technological systems to be accurate, accountable, fair and fit-for-purpose. We do this by engaging with the entire lifecycle of planning, design, development, deployment, oversight and regulation, and appreciating the social, environmental and economic contexts that co-evolve with technology.

HTI works with partners from across federal and state governments, civil society and the corporate sector as well as key international partners through our three interconnected ‘labs’.
