Costs
Doctors at the UTS Health Service operate as independent practitioners and are free to set their own rates. Currently all doctors bulk bill students for routine Medicare-covered consultations, with the exception of home visits which are privately billed.
You are required to pay at the time of consultation. We accept payment by Visa, MasterCard, and EFTPOS.
Australian residents
- No cost for most consultations if you have a current Medicare card.
- Some services are not covered by Medicare and will therefore incur an out of pocket fee e.g. vaccinations.
International students
- No cost to you for most consultations if you have Medibank Private or ahm Overseas Student Health Cover. Students with other Overseas Student Health Cover will be required to pay for their consultations. (A receipt will be provided to enable a claim to be made to your health insurer. Generally, 100% of the fee will be reimbursed by the insurance fund. Please check the details with your health insurance provider).
- Some services are not covered by Overseas Student Health Cover and will incur a fee, e.g. vaccinations.
- If you do not have Overseas Student Health Cover you will have to pay for your consultation. You may be able to be reimbursed for this via your own country's health insurance system or through private health insurance. Please check the conditions of your health cover.
Vaccines
There is a charge for most vaccines. Please contact reception for vaccine availability and our current prices.
