Compliance
You are required to achieve full compliance by the end of Professional Skills Week (16 February 2024) in the first year.
Please ensure you upload all necessary compliance documents to MyPlacement by 31 January 2024 to allow time for GSH and NSW Health to review your documents.
The Graduate School of Health Clinical Compliance Checklist (PDF 148KB) will assist you in meeting the requirements of the School and NSW Health.
You are required to attend clinical placements in person throughout the program and may be required to travel to participate in these learning activities.
If you reside outside of NSW and wish to undertake a placement in your local state, you will also need to meet the requirements of that state or country (in addition to NSW Health requirements).
If you are not compliant, you are not able to attend placements and risk failing the subject.
Process
Step 1
- Upload the required compliance forms onto MyPlacement under Forms and Checks tabs.
- Once ready to be assessed, submit a request to the Graduate School of Health Clinical Placement Team to review.
Step 2
- The GSH Clinical Placement Team will review the documents and reach out via email to advise you if any evidence is outstanding or requires clarification.
- If you have all the required documentation, GSH Clinical Placement Team will advise you to send all your documents to NSW Health for formal assessment.
Step 3
- Following formal assessment, you will be provided with an outcome directly from NSW Health and that information will be updated on the Checks tab in MyPlacement within 24 hours.
UTS Name Badge
Students are required to wear a UTS name badge while on clinical placement and during simulated placement activities.
Students will be required to purchase a name badge during Professional Skills Week. Payment of $10 is required.
ClinConnect
In order to facilitate clinical placements in NSW Public Health Facilities, students are required to consent to specific information being entered into ClinConnect and must complete the online forms which are indicated in the Graduate School of Health Clinical Compliance Checklist.
Working with Children Check
All students undertaking clinical placement in a child-related work environment must obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC). These are valid for 5 years from the day it is processed. Students who already hold a WWCC do not need to apply for a new one unless it expires during the course.
Once received, please upload evidence, indicate your WWCC number and expiry on MyPlacement under the Checks tab.
