Martina Doblin apointed to ARC College of Experts
Congratulations to Associate Professor Martina Doblin whose appointment to the ARC College of Experts was announced this week. ARC College of Experts members play a key role in identifying research excellence, moderating external assessments and recommending fundable proposals. Its members are experts of international standing drawn from the Australian research community.
Associate Professor Doblin leads the Coastal Oceanography and Algal Research Team (COAST) within the Plant Functional Biology and Climate Change Cluster (C3), a UTS Research Strength. Her current ARC Discovery and LIEF Awards will have a direct impact on improving the accuracy of ocean-climate models to forecast ocean productivity.
Internationally recognised as a marine ecology and aquatic biochemistry expert, Associate Professor Doblin also has broad oceanographic expertise, co-ordinating the NSW node of Australia’s Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS).
“Being a member of The College means I’ll learn a lot about the caliber and nature of scientific research happening around Australia,” Doblin said.
“I’m also pleased to be able to provide researchers expert and fair review in my discipline.”
The appointment commences in January 2015
