Empowering community
The first phase of this partnered project with the Somali Welfare and Cultural Association (SWCA) kicked off with a workshop on 10 December 2022.
The aim of the session was to create an opportunity for the academic team and members of the partner organisation to work together in mapping the tasks involved in coordinating the annual Africultures Festival, as one of the key programs offered by SWCA to community members.
The next phase of the project will involve interviewing SWCA members in 2023.
