Today 2SER, in collaboration with University of Technology Sydney, launches a brand new podcast, Think: Business Futures. Hosted by leading UTS Business School academics Dr Nicole Sutton and Professor David Brown, the show goes beyond the buzzwords to look at the complexities of a current business story.
It’s easy to talk about the future of work using words like ‘innovation’, ‘disruption’ and ‘blue-sky thinking’ — but it’s much harder to explain how it works and what it looks like in the real world. This is where Think: Business Futures comes in.
Professor Brown says while they will be interviewing and drawing upon the knowledge of 'the experts', they not interested in telling listeners what to think.
"Rather, we want to peel back the layers of a business story to pique the listeners’ interests further," Professor Brown says.
The show takes cutting-edge research and thinking, with real world examples, to unpack what is actually going on in the business world. Think: Business Futures sets out to get listeners thinking deeply and critically about current issues, from circular consumption in fashion to the gig economy.
2SER Station Manager Melanie Withnall says the station is excited to expand under the THINK banner a show exploring business.
"There’s obviously a lot of interest in this area, with everyone talking about the future of work, and what Think: Business Futures contributes to the conversation is that it tackles these topics and challenges conventional wisdom with academic rigour.”
Think: Business Futures has launched its first two episodes today. The series is available on all podcasting apps including Apple Podcasts. Listen on Whooshkaa or online at 2ser.com. The show is also rebroadcast on Sundays from 10.30am on 2ser 107.3 FM.
