Distinguished Professor Robert Wood joins UTS
World-renowned expert in organisational psychology and leadership, Distinguished Professor Robert Wood, will join UTS Business School to lead a new Futures Academy with a focus on helping individuals reskill and upskill.
Dean of UTS Business School Professor Chris Earley said he was delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Wood, who will work with academic staff and industry to develop the Futures Academy and design cutting-edge programs.
“We are thrilled to have someone of Professor Wood’s calibre joining UTS Business School at a unique time in our history, when we have the opportunity to shake-up business education and how it is delivered around the world,” said Professor Earley.
“Professor Wood brings a wealth of experience in designing and delivering programs for executives and emerging leaders in areas such as adaptive leadership, problem solving, ethical decision-making, and enhancing diversity,” he said.
Professor Wood has held senior appointments at top universities in Australia and around the world, including UNSW’s AGSM, Melbourne Business School, University of Western Australia and as a Visiting Professor at the Kellogg School, Northwestern University.
He is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia, the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management, the American Psychological Association and the International Association of Applied Psychologists.
Professor Wood gained his PhD at the University of Washington and undertook post-doctoral studies at Stanford under the guidance of Albert Bandura, the most famous architect of Social Cognitive theory.
The author of many scholarly journal articles, books and book chapters, Professor Wood has made contributions to a wide range of research fields throughout his career.
He was founder of the Centre for Ethical Leadership at the University of Melbourne, and has served on the Executive Boards of the Academy of Social Sciences Australia and the International Association of Applied Psychology.
