Tahra Allen
Tahra is a final-year UTS student pursuing a double degree in Finance and Medical Biotechnology. Passionate about the intersection of business and science, she focuses on leveraging strategic investments to drive innovation in biotechnology and healthcare. Her experience with Deloitte’s Global Investment and Innovation team provided her with key insights into financial analysis and R&D tax management. At 23Strands, a genomics startup, dedicated to advancing personalised medicine, she gained a deep understanding of the biotech industry and the crucial role of capital raising in commercialising research. During her university exchange in Copenhagen, she completed master’s subjects that both globalised and broadened her perspective. Recognised on the Business and Science Dean's Merit Lists, Tahra applies a strategic financial perspective to drive innovation and sustainable growth, aiming to create lasting value within the UTS Anchor Investment Fund.
Zac Begetis
Zac is a driven business professional and final year Bachelor of Accounting (Finance) student at UTS who will commence his Undergraduate Honours in Finance from 2025. He is also studying for his CFA Level 1 exam in February 2025 and was a recipient of the UTS CFA Exam Scholarship.
During his degree, Zac has represented UTS Case Team at international case competitions in Singapore and Denmark, and placed 2nd in the 2023 UTS Consulting Club x Strategy& Consultant Cup for which he was elected Team Leader. Zac was also the recipient of the esteemed New Colombo Plan Scholarship and participated in the 2023 Indonesia Leadership Intensive. He currently holds an associate role in Performance & Improvement for UTS Case Team and is a member of the Publications Subcommittee in the UTS Finance Society.
Professionally, Zac works part-time in Finance & Operations for Begetis Real Estate and recently interned at Thinkmill and Sharemill Family Office, where he executed various tax and advisory functions on behalf of the group’s shareholders. He also interned at ASX in Commercial Planning, with this initial exposure to financial markets igniting a passion for market research and investment analysis.
Pieter Dalebout
Jonas Elliff
Jonas is an enthusiastic penultimate-year student at UTS, pursuing a Bachelor of Business, where his singular focus on a career in finance has led him to undertake an Extended Major in the field. Jonas’ inclusion on the Dean’s Merit List speaks to his passion and aptitude for finance and an innate eagerness to learn. He is incredibly excited about the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the Anchor Investment Fund and gain exposure to the invaluable insights offered by industry professionals.
Specifically, Jonas exerts a keen interest in domestic equities and has successfully applied the theoretical knowledge acquired during his degree to his personal investing. Now, through the hands-on, practical experience offered by the Anchor Investment Fund, he is eager to hone his financial skills and develop a strong professional foundation before embarking on a career in the industry.
James Farrington
James is currently in the penultimate year of his Bachelor of Accounting Co-op program at UTS, where he is majoring in finance and accounting. He has a strong passion for equities, closely following the market and actively managing his own stock portfolio. Over the past year, James has gained valuable experience at Mirvac Property Group, working across the capital allocation, group accounting, and BTR teams, while also overseeing various development projects. This experience has deepened his passion for financial analysis, particularly in investments and property. James is eager to expand his expertise in funds management and capital markets.
Benjamin Fragiacomo
Capri Ireland
Capri is a final year student at the University of Technology Sydney, pursuing a Bachelor of Business with a major in Finance and Marketing. Her passion for finance particularly in insolvency and equity research has been shaped by her selection for the CFA Institute Research Challenge and hands-on experience at Ernst & Young in the Turnaround and Restructuring Strategy team. Capri aims to make a meaningful impact in the finance industry, particularly in roles that demand rigorous analysis and strategic insight.
Sarah Logiudice
Sarah is a driven and dedicated final year student pursuing a Bachelor of Business, majoring in both Finance and Accounting. Sarah is passionate about investigating the complexities of financial markets and their implications for the global economy.
With over 1.5 years of experience in Audit & Assurance, Sarah brings a unique understanding of analytical skills and attention to detail to the fund. Furthermore, her interest in investing drives a passion for long-term wealth generation.
Through involvement in the Student Managed Fund and the UTS Business School, Sarah seeks to deepen her knowledge in finance, particularly in portfolio management, while making a lasting impact on the fund.
Sarah is honoured to be a part of the fund this semester and is excited to leverage her skills and insights to contribute meaningfully to the finance industry in the fund and her career.
Mia Majewski
Mia is a committed Finance and Human Resource Management student at the University of Technology Sydney, currently in her final semester pursuing a Bachelor of Business. She has developed a broad range of skills through various roles, notably at KPMG, where she enhanced her expertise in management consulting, focusing on human resource management systems. Additionally, Mia has completed virtual internships with Bank of America and J.P. Morgan, where she performed financial analysis and identified merger and acquisition targets. She is also representing UTS in the CFA Research Challenge, which is helping her refine her analytical, valuation, report writing, and presentation skills. Mia is passionate about finance and is eager to maximize her experience within the Anchor Investment Fund.
Nicholas Moutevelis
Nicholas is a driven and highly analytical professional currently completing the final year of his Bachelor of Business, with a major in Accounting and Finance. With nearly three years of experience in business services and tax advisory, Nicholas has cultivated a robust foundation in supporting small family businesses with their financial and taxation needs.
Renowned for his competitive spirit, meticulous attention to detail, and capacity to perform under pressure, Nicholas has a deep passion for equities and taxation. He has a strong interest in Microsoft Excel and both quantitative and qualitative analysis, particularly in how they influence equity prices—a field in which he is continually developing his expertise.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Nicholas is committed to maintaining a balanced and active lifestyle. He regularly engages in training at the gym, running, playing soccer, tennis and participating in ten-pin bowling, embodying his dedication to both physical fitness and personal growth.
Armand Passillier
Armand Passillier is an ambitious and dedicated finance student, currently in his final year of a Bachelor of Business with an Extended Finance Major.
His professional journey includes a role as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst in Debt Capital Markets at Crédit Agricole CIB in Paris. Armand has also completed virtual experiences with leading financial institutions such as J.P. Morgan, Goldman Sachs, and Bank of America, where he honed his skills in financial analysis, valuation, and M&A strategy.
Armand's dedication to the field is evident in his extracurricular activities. He emerged victorious in the UTS Banking Society's Equity Research Competition and achieved high rankings in asset management and trading simulations. His ability to adapt and persevere has been crucial in these competitive environments.
Fluent in French and English, with intermediate Spanish skills, Armand's multicultural background enhances his global perspective in finance. His interests extend beyond the financial realm to geopolitics, aerospace, vintage cars, and sailing, reflecting a well-rounded personality.
With a clear focus on Investment Banking and Hedge Funds, Armand is committed to continuous learning and is always prepared to face new challenges. His combination of academic excellence, practical experience, and personal drive positions him as a promising talent in the finance industry.
Matthew Pontey
Matthew is a high-achieving, motivated individual who enjoys being challenged in fast-paced environments. He is in his second-year studying the prestigious Bachelor of Accounting Co-op Program, majoring in Accounting and Finance. Matthew desires to progress into a career that will embed his innate passion for investing and equity markets within an advisory role that draws upon his ability to utilise strong analytical and interpersonal skills to achieve strategically aligned outcomes for global businesses.
Matthew’s academic achievements include being on the Dean’s Merit List in consecutive years, highlighting his commitment and ability to excel in his Finance Studies. Beyond academics, Matthew is involved in an array of extra-curricular activities including being an Events Director and Global Competitor for UTS Case Team. He recently represented UTS Business School at the world’s largest Case Competition ‘JMUCC’ in Montreal, Canada where he analysed the financial feasibility of solutions in front of global executives and consulting partners.
Furthermore, Matthew has been working at Macquarie Group as a finance analyst for the Business Banking channel, developing his technical financial skills and coverage of middle market companies.
Matthew endeavours to display his passion for investing and asset allocation in the Anchor Fund.
Vasant Taragambadi
Vasant is a penultimate-year Law and Economics student currently working part-time with the investment management legal team at Stockland. He has previously worked with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. Throughout his university journey, Vasant has actively participated in a range of extracurricular activities, including various UTS LSS Mooting competitions. He also serves as the Operations Director of the UTS Finance Society, where he oversees the society's financial affairs and strategic planning.
Vasant is honoured to be selected as a portfolio manager within the Anchor Investment Fund and aims to leverage this opportunity to explore his interest in finance and gain practical skills. He aspires to kickstart his career in finance through this program.
Julian Visalli
Julian is a highly motivated student pursuing a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) and a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Technology Sydney, where he maintains a High Distinction average. He is on track to graduate with Honours Class I in Law and has been recognized for his academic achievements with numerous awards including the Ashurst Litigation Prize, the Bruce McWilliam Law Prize and a spot on the Dean’s Merit List.
In his professional career, Julian brings four years of experience, having previously worked at J.P. Morgan (Cadetship Program) and Apostle Funds Management. He is now an intern at Pacific Equity Partners and is concurrently preparing for his CFA Level 1 exam.
Beyond his academic and professional pursuits, Julian is actively engaged in extracurricular activities including consulting, mooting, and sports (athletics and boxing).
Julian is committed to further developing his skills through his involvement with the Anchor Investment Fund.
Joshua Wong
Joshua is in his final year at the University of Technology Sydney, pursuing a Bachelor of Business with a major in Finance and a sub-major in Economics and Financial Services. He is a motivated and passionate student aiming for a career in investment banking or fund management. Joshua brings extensive experience in accounting and has served as a Fellow at Bondi Partners’ 1941 Fund. Through his involvement with the 1941 Fund, Joshua has gained a profound understanding of the financial industry, extending beyond traditional academic learning. These valuable experiences have fuelled his enthusiasm for investment analysis and valuations. Joshua plans to further his education in data analytics and aims to leverage his academic and professional background to enhance his practical skills within the Anchor Investment Fund.
