Our previous Dean of the Faculty of Health (2018-2021), Prof. Suzanne Chambers, discusses the impact of our Alumni:
The purpose and the mission of the Faculty of Health at UTSA is to develop and support the healthcare workforce for the future. This means developing healthcare professionals who are research inspired and connected. Evidence-based focused on the person delivering compassionate care when and where it is needed. This is why we are here in the Faculty of Health. Importantly we remain first in the country and in the top 10 in the world for Nursing and Midwifery. Incredible achievement in sports and exercise science equal fourth in Australia, and in pharmacy number ninth in this country. These are achievements we are very proud of. Students at UTS enjoy world-class
facilities in these wonderful facilities at Moorpark a hundred Broadway being developed for our Graduate School of Health. Our world-class sim labs for our nursing and midwifery students.
It's a wonderful place for students to come and learn our approach to clinical research and the Faculty of Health is very much focused on the patient experience. For example we host the cancer symptom trials group supported by cancer Australia that's really looking at relieving those symptoms of cancer and its treatment and improving the quality of life of people with this illness. As an example of our global impact through our World Health Organization collaborating Center, we work with nurses and midwives across 17 countries in the Pacific area to improve and develop health care services for those populations.
Our alumni are our past our present and our future and they allow us to magnify our positive affect across the nation and indeed across the world.
