UTS:Health Hosts Midwifery Key Technology Partnership
The Centre for Midwifery, Child and Family Health in the UTS Faculty of Health has been delighted to host Associate Professor Ling-ling Gao from Sun Yat-sen University in China as a Key Technology Partnership (KTP) Visiting Fellows (VF). This exciting UTS scheme provides opportunity and financial support for international researchers to work collaboratively with similar researchers at UTS. The researchers who are awarded these fellowships must be a high-quality scholar or leader in their field and their visit. Professor Caroline Homer has been hosting Associate Professor Gao’s fellowship at UTS, the aim of which is to build research and teaching collaborations between the two universities.
Dr. Ling-ling Gao is a midwifery scholar who has received competitive grants from Sun Yat-sen University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Guangdong Province, China to conduct research focussing on childbirth education, pregnant women’s mental health, postpartum depression and caesarean section. She has published in English language journals as well as in highly ranked Chinese journals. Now she is a member of Maternal and Child Health Care of China Association, a member of Perinatal Medicine of Association in Guangdong Province, China and an External Examiner for The Open University of Hong Kong.
This is an exciting new collaboration for the Centre and the centre looks forward to consolidating future work together through publications, research and students exchanges.
