UTS: Health launches new Master degrees
Presented by the Faculty’s Dean, Professor John Daly, Director of Postgraduate Nursing Studies, Dr Louise Hickman and Primary Health Care course coordinator, Dr Elizabeth Denney-Wilson introduced the degrees to UTS staff and industry stakeholders. The evening was closed by guest speaker Adjunct Professor Susan Pearce, Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer for the Ministry of Health, who spoke of the innovation and achievements of nurses and midwives in New South Wales.
The introduction of the Master of Primary Health Care at UTS reflects government health reforms, with the multidisciplinary course providing the knowledge and expertise required to work effectively within new frameworks.
The new Master of Advanced Nursing, developed with key stakeholder groups including Educators, CNCs, NUMs, Directors of Nursing and consumers, is “My Master of Nursing”. The flexible structure allows students to design their own course, mixing and matching 8 majors ,11 sub-majors and 40+ electives to design a degree that best suits career aspirations.
Both degrees provide unique learning opportunities for students with subjects delivered in a blended learning mode with the best of on-campus learning experiences combined with innovative online activities.
