UTS first for nursing and midwifery
- UTS has ranked first in Australia and 7th in the world for Nursing in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2018
- UTS also ranks sixth in Australia and 33rd in the world for sports-related studies
The recent QS World University Rankings by Subject announcement [opens external site] has proven once again the Faculty of Health is leading the way when it comes to providing high-quality nursing education in Australia.
UTS has ranked seventh globally, and first in Australia for the second year running in the nursing discipline, which includes both nursing and midwifery subjects. UTS was considered among 468 institutions in the discipline worldwide.
In sports-related subjects, UTS has ranked 33rd in the world, jumping ahead from 41st place in 2017.
These achievements are testament to the dedication of high-calibre academic staff and their persistent drive for excellence and innovation in teaching, research and healthcare leadership.
This year, the QS World University Rankings by Subject results highlighted 48 subject disciplines, 151 countries and 1130 institutions in total. Scoring is based on academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact.
With UTS ranked in the top 100 for nine subjects, and in the top 50 for four subjects overall, it is a fantastic result for the Faculty of Health to claim two of these accolades, with recognition across both nursing and sport studies.
