Professor Debra Anderson, Associate Dean (Research), and currently the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Health, explores the impact of the Faculty of Health, on improving the lives of those in our communities. This is achieved by staying well-connected, collaborating and keeping engaged with the heath sector.
Much of the research in the faculty is to answer questions for the health of the community, with the aim of putting it into practice. Palliative, cancer, aged and chronic care, as well as stuttering research are some of the key strength areas of the faculty.
An exciting project led by Professor Meera Agar, Director of IMPACCT, is looking into developing a sustainable model of care for older people with cancer.
One of the health research projects for the year ahead involves forming a Health Research Institute (HRI), to bring together different people from across the university and link them with health practitioners.
If we want to make a meaningful contribution in health and meet health challenges, we need to collaborate across the university and with industry partners.
