Dr Amie Steel 2022 leader in complementary medicine research
For the second year running, Dr Amie Steel has been awarded The Australian's Research Magazine top researcher for Alternative and Traditional medicine.
Dr Amie Steel is a Senior Research Fellow in the School of Public Health and with the Australian Research Centre in Complementary and Integrative Medicine at UTS. She is a trained naturopath having practiced in both Brisbane and regional NSW before choosing the path of research.
Dr Steel began her research career in the area of prenatal care, and is now focusing her research expertise towards a more integrated, collaborative, person-centred health system.
For the second year running, Dr Steel is the most highly cited scholar in the field of alternative and traditional medicine, having been named The Australian’s 2021 and 2022 Research Magazine top researcher for the field.
The Australian's Research Magazine names the top researcher in each field of research, based on the number of citations for papers published in the top 20 journals in each field, over the past five years.
