Beyond the birth
Cutting-edge research by PhD candidate Lynne Roberts , will investigate how hypertension in pregnancy (HIP) affects the mental health of women.
The research, being done through the Faculty of Health’s Centre for Midwifery, Child and Family Health, looks at whether an increase in the mental health issues in women with gestational hypertension or pre-eclampsia pre-dated their pregnancy, are a consequence of the pregnancy, are due to the processes involved in managing the complication or the often-associated pre-term birth.
