Over a two-week period, the festival brings together students, industry, and tech enthusiasts on campus across a series of workshops, seminars, hackathons, industry panels and competitions.

With over 3,300 participants attending the two-week festival, it proved to be significantly popular, especially among UTS international students. The following teams have done exceptionally well in securing awards during student showcases and share their personal insights from the festival.

“We developed an iOS Application called ExpenseTracker which, as its name suggests, is targeted to expenditure tracking and management. The application consists of various features including quick addition of expense data to the application through taking images of expense documents, extensive analytics, reporting, alerts based on expense targets and a machine learning based smart expense advisor.

We were all ecstatic, astonished, and overwhelmed when we won. We did exceptional work and hats off to my team, but we really were not expecting to win at all, hence it was quite a surprise.

Attending the UTS Tech Festival 2023 was an incredible experience. The festival showcased cutting-edge technology and innovation, leaving me inspired and amazed. From engaging panel discussions to interactive demos, I had the opportunity to explore the latest advancements and connect with brilliant minds in the industry.”

“My project is Sonic Pulsar- audio visualization. It's a music data visualization tool based on Three.js and Shader that includes 7 different tools. In our project, we tried our best to show the combination of our favourite elements and newly learned technologies. For example, I like the universe, so I made a Milky Way.

When they announced that I was the winner of the "Game Showcase: Best Computer Graphics Project," it was an incredible feeling because I had seen a lot of really great projects at the game showcase.

At Tech Festival, I saw a lot of good projects from computer graphics and 3D animation, it was very interesting to see the creativity and design of different makers, it was fun!”

“Our project is a safe cracker game, Crypta Aenigma Cubus. It is a co-operative multiplayer game that challenges you and your friends to work together to solve puzzle modules and unlock the secrets of a mysterious safe.

I was filled with excitement and joy after winning. I deeply appreciate my team members; I don't believe I could have achieved this prize without their support. Working with such brilliant students at UTS has been a rewarding experience, and it's precisely why I chose to come here. Meeting these talented individuals and learning how to collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds has been an invaluable opportunity.

This was my first time at Tech Festival, and meeting so many talented individuals has been truly encouraging. We had the opportunity to discuss each other's projects, which was quite interesting. I feel fortunate to have had such an amazing experience at UTS!”
